CC under ISC 2.2

Has anybody out there who's running ISC 2.2 made their C compiler explode
with the message:
Fatal error in /lib/comp
Status 0213
And, having seen this decided to use gcc instead which does:
/usr/local/gnu/gcc: Program cc1 got fatal signal 11
And, if so what happened??
I'm not including the code that did this because I've posted it code that's
done the same thing before and I just want to know has ANYBODY seen this
before on their machine and, if so, what did they find out about it.
I have an Aurora 386 33 MHz with NO 387, running Interactive 2.2 and I need
to compile some important code. The compilers I used were the normal cc in
th first case and gcc 1.37.1 in the second case. I have a feeling that the
problem has something to do with converting doubles to longs and v.v. and
also not having a coprocessor. Any help greatly appreciated.
