which UNIX for Exabyte tape drive?

I have a 486 PC clone with an Exabyte tape drive (hanging off of an
Adaptec 1542B) and a single 120Meg Microscience disk drive (not big enough,
but then disks never are), and I'm looking for a UNIX package that would allow
me to:
1) put DOS and UNIX on the same disk
2) read large files (up to ~10Meg) off of the Exabyte tape drive
3) write those files to the DOS partition (or somehow make them
readable from DOS applications). Do I need VP/ix?
I assume all 386 UNIX software supports #1, but #2, and especially #3,
are the points I need to know more about.
Please e-mail your responses, and if there's enough interest I'll summarize to
the net.
Thanks in advance,
