And it is my observation, after just trying it a) as root su'd to news, b)
as root su'd to uucp (which does not have a password), and c) as sef su'd
to root, that it works as I have described it.
Since I am running a straight SCO UNIX 3.2v2 (with the exception of uucico,
which is a sef Special), I fail to see how you can get that error.
Perhaps you're thinking of at?
