Compatibility across SYSVs

I have read various posting about one or other 386 Unix having
more products available and that this may be one reason for
choosing them.

As SVR4 has the Application Binary Interface (ABI) is it really
an issue as to which 386 Unix you buy with regard to product
availability.

Isn't this what shrink wrap software and ABI is all about ?
