Just got the word from Dell that V.4 2.01 is available. Since it's
net.politically.incorrect for THEM to mention it, I will. (Nomex.suit
ready for action!). Here's the announcement:

>[begin std.stampede]
>
>The DELL UNIX V.4-2.01 update has finally gotten to our stocking locations in
>our Manufacturing departments here at DELL. BBBBBBBBuuutttttt,
>before you call for it, please take the time to read the following
>message to avoid confusion.
>
>
>1) It would be incorrect net.behavior for us to announce to the
>	USEnet groups that it is here. However, if one of y'all
>	care to mention it, that's your decision...............
>	(if you do this, PLEASE copy this *entire* message)
>
>2) New DELL V.4 customers will receive it. New machines that have V.4
>	ordered for them will have it installed on them.
>
>3) If you've purchased *support contract*, you can contact us via
>	phone numbers that you usually call. PLEASE DON'T ALL CALL
>	US TONIGHT!! But, please call us over the next couple of
>	days to request it. You can use email to : support at uudell.dell.com
>	but if you do, please *include* your original PO #, customer
>	number, &/or system service tag(near the power cord on your
>	system) so we can properly get shipping information on you.
>	Please also include a *shipping address* so we can insure
>	that it comes to the correct place.
>
>4) If you've *not purchased support*, you *MUST* contact your DELL
>	sales representative, as there's a charge of (USA) $50.00
>	to cover the costs of duplication, shipping, and the media.
>
>	The DELL Part Number is: 14536

Steve sent out a correction; that number is actually 14538.

>	The DELL SKU Number is: 450-1020
>
>5) The release is installable via: pkgadd -d ctape1
>	Just as you installed your original O/S tape.
>
>6) If you *chose *DEFAULT* system disk parameter sizes* when
>	you first installed V.4, *do not install *ALL* packages
>	at once. Do them one-at-a-time to insure there's enough
>	diskspace on your system as it copies some information
>	from tape to a "temp" file, and then to the proper place.
>
>7) *AFTER* installing the 2.01 update, *THEN* re-install the
>	security update diskette you received earlier this month.
>	*IT IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE 2.01 UPDATE*, as we were
>	notified by AT&T after the update-2.01 had cleared Test &
>	Validation.
>
>**Please understand that from your phone call, it will take our
>**shipping group about 4->7 *working days* to get it to you.
>
>If you've got additional questions, or comments, please contact us
>at 1-800-624-9896 x 6915, or via email: support at uudell.dell.com
>

Cheers!

Dave
