building X11R4/X386 on ISC 2.2.1 w/GCC 1.39 & gcoff patches...

I have taken the X11R4 sources, applied the 18 official fixes, added X386
to the source tree, and applied the diffs provided with X386. I am using
gcc 1.39 with the gcoff patches made available by David Dawes so that
gcc/gas produce coff output.
I'm trying to build X using ISC 2.2.1. Has anyone managed to build the kit
using this combination? Would you mail me the diffs for mit/Makefile
config/Makefile.ini config/at386.cf and anything else you needed to change?
Or, if others seem to want this info, maybe it would be better to post?
Most of the problems I'm seeing have to do with system include files. Did
you use the -traditional flag? I tried and ran into some other problems
including in the MakeUNIXConnection section.
It takes sooo long to rebuild after making changes that it would save many
of us a lot of time if someone has already experimented and found out what
changes are necessary, specifically for building on ISC.
Thanks for any help!
