Help w/ mmap() on a decstation 3100

We are attempting to port a large floating point intensive application
to the 3100. Unfortunately, we can not get mmap() to function
properly.
Further, our machine has *no* mmap() man page, and since the box is a
loaner,we have no documentation.
Has anyone successfully used mmap(...MAP_SHARED...) on a 3100?
Could someone send a man page or example code to us?
