Yet Another bug in Ultrix 4.0 csh

Talking about CSH bugs -- in Ultrix 4.0 DEC replaced the 'standard'
csh with an enhanced version, formerly known as '/usr/new/csh'. This
shell has two major drawbacks (that I consider bugs):
- The shell does not allow you to (permanently) change some tty
settings, e.g. '-echo'. This makes it an annoyance to use it from
within Emacs shell-mode.
- The shell supports cursor keys to select items from the history
list. However, when I hit UpArrow (Esc [ A on a VT320), the command
is performed, but the '[' and 'A' get a big change of being
processed as input as well. They're inserted at the beginning of
the recalled command and usually result in command errors.
Are these problems known to DEC? Do they still exist in 4.1? I'll
submit an SPR if so.
