Ultrix NFS allows one access priv per file system

We use a 3600(Ultrix 3.1) as an NFS file server for some workstations
including Sun3/80s, VAXstation2000s and 3100s, RTs, and a NeXT. Anyway,
Ultrix NFS allows only one "option" setting per file system. When I
set root write access for one workstation to a file ssystem then all
of the workstations get it. It seems Ultrix's NFS registers options
only if the mounted file system is the root directory of the partition
and then only the last of these is kept, that is there is only one option
kept and it is the last one seen in the /etc/exports file.
Has anyone dealt with this situation? How? Has anyone heard about DEC's
plans for NFS? Will they incorporate option settings per /etc/exports
line?
Thanks,
