MESSAGE
write_ID: timeout trying to write to
_VIPER
If you run your MVII/GPX with the MIT X11R4 server and don't disable the
console tty, this may happen to you some time if you run xdvi, especially
if you page quickly and/or use the magnifier. Your X server will hang.
If you kill the getty running on the console, so that it restarts and
prints the login banner on your screen again, the X server will unfreeze
and afterward you'll see the above errors in the "uerf" database. If you
disable the console tty (in /etc/ttys), xdvi will not hang.
This is a point of information for those who like to leave the console
enabled in /etc/ttys even when running an X server. I've not had this
problem on B&W hardware.
