To all of you who gave me advice on getting a post-script screen dump
of an X11 screen - thanks! I found XtoPS from export.lcs.mit.edu to
work extremely well, and was able to compile it with no problem.
Further, the animate and display programs it comes with are excellent.
When printing out the ps files to my laser printer, the results are
quite good. The only problem is that conversion of the ps file to the the
hp laser or hppaintjet is very time consuming, even on a 386 20Mhz
pc! I would suggest anyone who own's a DEC workstation to get a
postscript printer if possible, as this will greatly speed up the
color printer process.
