file system layouts

Does anyone have a good strategy for laying out
file systems on a PDP-11 with a single 300 megabyte
disk under version 7?

Also, does someone have an online copy of the document
which describes the mkfs/icheck interleaving of sectors
based on CPU type and drive type.  Could you mail me
a copy?
