File SETUID bits

	In response to an item in UNIX-WIZARDS yesterday about VMUNIX
turning off SETUID bits when a file was modified:

	I totally AGREE with the authors sentiments that this is a
bad idea.  Having used several OS' that attempt to "think for you"
by modifying various file protections automatically, I find this
a total pain.  Fortunately UNIX does NOT do to much thinking for you,
which is one of the reasons it is small, (compared to many other
OS'), reasonably efficient, and somewhat easier to use than most.

	Even if this is a "simple" kernel mod, (I think it would take
only 1 or 2 lines properly placed), THAT IN NO WAY makes it more
excusable.  If I wanted the computer to think for me, I could always
get a lobotomy...
