shared versus unshared libraries: there *is* a difference

programs breaking when the library changes, are equally true of
any library when the program is relinked, which can reasonably
be expected of any program in general use or of medium or large
size. Given this, it is hard to take these objections
seriously."
I disagree. There's BIG difference between a program breaking when
someone recompiles it (and is giving it her attention, looking for
modified behavior) and a program breaking when someone changes a
distant library and the break is first noticed by an uninvolved user.
