Help. I need Unix to DECmate communications.

Can anyone suggest a way to do UNIX to DECmate II
and UNIX to DECmate I (ws78) file communications?  I know
about KERMIT but the DECmateII is not programmable
without buying the CPM board?  Is there a version
of DEC's DX for UNIX?
