Boot tape for new distribution

I would like to make a bsd like distribution tape containing
my version of 4.1bsd(i added Bass style record locking and
the like).  I want it to be bootable just like the 4.1bsd
distribution so I can move to several more machines.  Can
anyone tell me how to do this?
