Right on!  "cat -v" considered harmful.  I think it's funny in a sad
sort of way that when USG finally got around to adding Berkeley
enhancements, one of the first things they did was to implement
"cat -v".  Apparently not everyone involved with AT&T UNIX development
listens to Rob Pike.  Or maybe they do, but are marketing driven so
that they are out to supply "features" -- like ""job control"" (even
though it is not the same thing as the "job control" that people
wanted).
