Comparison of UNIX implementations (help requested)

I am posting the following for another person PLEASE reply to her directly
and not to me. (--eugene)
I am interested in evaluating the most common implementations of Unix
(i.e. 4.2 BSD, System V & Xenix) with regards to:
1) Ease of use (user-interface)
2) Implementation details (i.e. virtual memory)
3) Target machines (i.e. VAX, 68000, 8086, etc.)
The eventual goal is to decide on which Unix system to bring up on a
proprietary machine (that is still in the design stages). Can anyone point
me to a good article which addresses some/all of these issues, or even send
me useful tips off the top of your head? I'll summarize and post the
results to net.unix if it seems appropriate.
