Status of C Standardization

  I've heard a fair bit of arguing about what C is or isn't on the net
(I've even contributed to it at times), but I haven't heard much about
the rumored C standardization efforts.
  Can someone give us a progress report, or is this just going to jump
out of the closet without warning some day.
