Increasing # of inodes on a file system in 4.2?

Tom Gulvin, a co-worker at Resonex says:

"In 4.2, it is not as easy to change to a higher number of inodes as it is
in non-fast-file systems.  To increase the number of inodes past  2048
per cylinder group is nearly impossible. Instead, decrease the number
of cylinders per cylinder group."
