GPIB driver?

I need to get one of our Suns or vaxen to talk IEEE-488
(aka HP-IB, aka GP-IB).

I dug up an old National Instruments GPIB-11 (Rev A) Unibus
board and documentation. Is this likely to be worth using, or
should I go buy something? Whose board is best? Lack of DMA
doesn't bother me, unless there's some reason that I can't send
more than a couple of characters per interrupt. Nothing fancy,
all I need is read() and write() to a single instrument.

In any case, I have no driver for anyone's board. (Why is
"gpib" listed in /sys/conf/files.vax?)	I'm not afraid to write
a driver, from scratch if necessary, but adapting one *would*
be more expedient. If you know one that I could use, modify,
or study (preferably without licensing hassles), or have any
war stories or recommendations, I'd love to hear from you...
