dr11w driver for 4.2bsd

I have a dr11w which under vms has been talking to robot
vision system, now we would like to do the same (with the
same hardware) under 4.2.  The Berkeley supplied driver
is tied to closely to the UB network interface and I would
like to have a more "generalized" driver....
