increasing maximum process size on 4.2bsd

One of our users would like to run some 60M processes (yes, I mean 60 meg).
There's a fairly obvious parameter in vmparam.h to control maximum process
size; are there any ill effects to changing it? For example, would all
other processes get huge page tables as a result, with consequent impact
on system performance? Is there a limit to how high this value can be
set? I'm not concerned about runaway processes; I'm perfectly willing to
stick a setrlimit call into login.c to keep the soft limit at 6M or so.
Please reply by mail.
