login doing stty lcase

Many of our less sophisticated users occasionally manage to hit the caps-lock
key on their terminals when logging in, causing lcase mode to be set
(especially on adm-5's which default to caps lock on power-up!!). This leads
to frantic phone calls when peoples' text files come out in upper case. I am
considering disabling this 'feature' of login/getty/init on my system since
I can't ever imagine anybody ever needing it (when's the last time YOU used
an upper-case only tty?).

The question is, before I go ahead and do it, can anybody think of any
hidden reason why this might be a bad idea?
