Booting Ultrix 1.0 from a TU81

A friend of mine is trying to bring up Ultrix 1.0 on
a VAX-11/785 with a TU81 tape drive and RA60 disks.
Apparently, the DEC boot floppy is set up load the
distribution tape from a TU80 tape drive and won't
work with the TU81.  He hasn't had much luck with
help from DEC yet.  Has anyone else succesfully
brought up ULTRIX 1.0 from a TU81?  How about 1.1?
