HELP !!!!!! fortran problems: BERKELEY 2.9
...........................................
The f77 compiler distributed with Berkeley Release 2.9
(for PDP11's) appears useless for anything but small
pgms, unless you happen to be running it on a large
machine like an 11/70. We're trying to run it on an 11/34
in a small scientific lab.
The problem seems to be that the I/O library loaded
with all pgms is poorly constructed; it needs about
25k of space by itself, which takes up about 40%
of an unoverlaid pgm and 3 out of 7 segments in an
overlaid pgm. Either way, there's little room left
for anything else.
Does anyone out there have a "fix" for this they're
willing to share with us? (If not, we'll have to
reinstall our strawberry V6 system. Gasp!!)
