BRL 4.2 ht driver bug

	Our VAX/780 running 4.2/BRL crashes when our tu77 has had
a less than perfect tape mounted on it. We were wondering if there
are know problems with the "ht" driver. The console message is as
follows:

tu0: 	hard error bn12380 mbsr=13080<ATTN,DTCMP,DTABT,MBEXEC> er=100<INCVPE>
 		ds=50660<ERR,MOL,DPR,DRY,PES,SDWN>
trap type 9, code = 6c00, pc = 80028205
panic: Protection fault

	Any ideas why a tape read or write error without the crash is
not taking place?
