      Public domain software can be obtained free of charge via
electronic mail from
                        netlib at anl-mcs
To obtain an index of available software libraries send the line

                        send index

to the above address. The collection icludes LINPACK, MINPACK,
ACM Mathematical Software Collection and similar other libraries.
Index for a single library may be obtained by a request of the form

                        send index for quadpack

and individual routines by

                        send dqag from quadpack

The requests wake up a server and the material is sent by return mail.

The netlib service is meant for the individual user and does not send
entire libraries.
