I hear there have been a number of problems with Locus running at UCLA.
There have been grumblings about reliability (frequent crashes), high overhead,
and general uncomfortableness of the system ( which might have been caused by
security mods and attitudes of an educational institution).
My experience with Locus was that as an idea it's great : it IS totally
transparent. The down side is its speed - you pay a heavy toll for all those
nifty features in network sluggishness.
