4.2BSD<->SYSV UUCP problems

I have a question about 4.2BSD<->SYSV UUCP connections. Are they
compatible? And if not, can they be made compatible?
We are a 4.2BSD site trying to establish a UUCP connection with a SYSV site.
I am not sure what version of SYSV they are running. There doesn't seem to be
a problem when they are in the MASTER role (ie. they initiate the call) but if
we try to call them we get a handshake failure. When we are expecting the
ROK, they send us RLGIN. I have looked at cico.c and there is no mention at
all of RLGIN, so it consequently fails. Any suggestions?
Please respond via email. Thanks.

If things don't change, they will probably remain the same.
