Is there an easy way to bump the SID without having to edit and delta a
file(s). I use the SID as the version number given to testers. Each time
I give a new version of a program to the testers, I change the SID from
(say) 2.xx to 3.1 This allows me to identify the version quickly if the
need arises and it also gives them a way to report bugs about version 2.
Is there some way, or set of commands, where I can bump the SID *WITHOUT* going
through all the bother (and time) of getting each file (for edit with new SID)
and then delta'ing it back?
