telnet performance vs rlogin performance

   We are interested in the performace of telnet and rlogin. We
are contemplating an environment with one machine handling up
to 30 sessions. Even miniscule differences in performance will
make a difference. If you have figures I'd appreciate it. If you
have pointers into literature I'd appreciate that to.
