XENIX386 version 2.3.1 and uucp

I have been experiencing MANY FAILED (conversation complete) when callers have
been requesting files to be transferred via uucp using Xenix386 version 2.3.1
and the Telebit Trailblazer-Plus modem. The percentage of failure is well
beyond acceptable limits. As it turns out, it seems that only 1 in 5 calls
actually complete normally. The failure seems only to happen when files are
transferred and not when mail is sent. It is very difficult to believe that the
problem is with the modem since it works perfectly for other applications
under Xenix.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what was the fix, if any.
I am afraid that the real problem is with SCO's HoneyDanber port!
