kernel params and cron

I have a situation where a computer hangs.  This is under SCO Xenix 2.3.2.
The problem occurs after a number of jobs get executed via the 'batch'
command.  We have the batch que set to 1 job at a time (in queuedefs).

I suspect that some table or message queeu is getting its limits exceeded.
Unfortunately, all the RTFMing in the world is to no avail, since the SCO
docs don't mention anything.

So, my question is: does anyone have any experience tuning Xenix kernels
for special circumstances in regards to the operation of cron?
