VGA Cards

I need some advice about VGA adaptors. I am running SCO Xenix 2.3.3 on a 386
box. I am toying with the idea of trying out Chain Lee's X diffs to try
working with X-windows. As these diffs require a VGA card, I need to upgrade
my hardware to try them out. Does anyone have any advice on what adaptors
to definately consider, definately stay away from, or will work well plus
allow for expansion later (like maybe already has drivers available for higher
resolution)? How about VGA monitors to go with this card?
