Well, I guess that I'm gonna need:
1 60 -> 80 MB hard disk. (I figure $700 -> $800)
1 40 -> 60 MB tape drive. (I figure $550->$700)
1 2 -> 3 MB extended memory board (120ns?). (I figure $350->$450)
1 4 -> 6 port, smart multiport card. (I figure $550->$700)
2 vt100 or Wyse 50 or 60 emulation compatible terminals with
about 50 ft of cable for each (hoping to use RJ45 connections).
(I really don't know about this one! I figure $250->$400 each)
So far, I've gotten some pretty outrageous quotes. The people see that it
isn't standard "PC" stuff so they a kinda thrown for a loop and don't quote
competitively. Also, how do I get this stuff installed in my machine.
I would like to get the stuff from some "shop" because if something breaks,
I would like to bring it back to them and be able to get a replacement
or whatever.
I live in L.A. and I'm sure that there is someone somewhere who knows
this stuff and would like an opportunity to vend these items.
If anyone knows what fair prices for these items are. What should I
be paying for these? Should I get anything mail-order? What about
the terminals? It doesn't seem like they should cost $500->$600
each. I don't need anything fancy in these terminals. Know of anywhere
or anyway that I could get these items at a good price?
Thanks a lot!
