COLOR UNDER XENIX

I'd like to get full capability out of the MONITOR under XENIX
and MICROPORT, such as special characters, borders, and of
course COLOR.

The problem with color seems to be manageable whenever I
do not use curses, with curses everything seems to splatter
everywhere.

To all of you experts the question is?

1. Which function/ioctl will give me the current monitor state
so when the program is done I can reset it to the original state.

2. How can I get extended characters displayed?

3. How can I display various colors while I'm using curses
   and windows?

4. Is there a function that will test whether the monitor is
   MONO or COLOR?

5. Is there a function that will test whether the user is on
   the MONITOR or a terminal?

These are typical function provided by almost all DOS C-library
   packages.

Please reply ASAP by E-MAIL or call me collect(only USA calls accepted).

Thanks in advance.
