Xenix and the PS180 disk controller

  I finally got to install my PS180 disk controller. It seems that the
1:1 track buffered version with floppy controller is not deliverable,
and so I got a WD1002-FOX floppy controller to allow testing. I really
need more disk space.

  There were no problems when I followed the instructions exactly. I
used SETUP to tell the firmware that there were no hard disks, and the
types were set *by jumper* on the controller. Then I booted DOS,
formatted the hard disks, and was ready to test. Since I was in DOS3.3 I
created a partition on each disk, formatted them, copied files, and
tried booting. Worked beautifully, response was fantastic.

  Then I tried to install Xenix/386. I put my custom boot disk with a
tape drive kernel in, hit reset and go a boot message. After RETURN the
system hung. Same thing with the unmodified (N1) disk. Then I tried
Xenix/286, same result.

  Question 1: has anyone made this work? The vendor said it worked with
UNIX and XENIX, but couldn't give me the name of anyone who had it
working (they don't give out customer names). They did offer to refund
my money, so I can't fault them on honesty.

  Question 2: has anyone made the Adaptek 2372 RLL controller work with
Xenix/386. I would rather have the large capacity, but right now I need
more space, and I already have two disks attached.

  Thanks for any info anyone may have, I have a call in to SCO, but I'm
not sure the person who took the description understands the problem,
since I couldn't characterize the controller as SCSI or ESDI.
