Mail setup trouble

I have been having this problem with mail for a bit now and it is driving
me crazy. Everytime I try to send a message to a remote system the following
is what I get:

uux failed. code -1
..mail.local: uux execution error
Can't send to: limbic!cpmain!mikej

I am running on a Lee Data System 2000 with a version of Honeydanber UUCP.
I can uucp files but uux does not seem to want to work. I checked the perm-
issions in all the spool directories but that does not seem to be the problem.

Can someone come to my rescue?
