Well, I got another kernel panic, similar circumstances. The system again
is SCO Xenix SysV/286 v2.2.1, with the PD PTYdriver installed. On:
% tar cf - . | compress | bundle /dev/fd096ds15 1200k 24k
it wrote some to the disk, then panic'ed as:
TRAP 000C in SYSTEM
ax=0014 bx=0324 cx=0004 dx=0064 si=0000 di=3FAD
bp=0332 fl=0246 uds=0018 es=0020
pc=0040:1587 ksp=03F2 ss:sp=0058:0328
panic: stack fault
then though it printed the message about powering down or rebooting
the machine hang completely, so that I had to power cycle.
I'd really like to know what it is in either the floppy driver, pipe
mechanism, or god only knows what else, that is causing these failures.
Thanks
