C++ for Xenix?

Has anyone had any luck porting AT&T's C++ to Xenix/386 Version 2.2?  I
have the official 1.2 distribution and have done some hacking on it, but with
only partial success so far.  Would this be simpler if I waited for
2.3? (I heard that 2.3 would have COFF support)  I know that Lifeboat
Associates offers a C++ for Xenix, but it's a little pricey.
