Xenix '386 tape stuff...

  Everything you want to do works fine, but I have never tried C level
stuff writing in small block. I set my buffers to be 5k and write that
way. Stdout seems to be okay, so I wouldn't expect any trouble. All of
the interfaces work as expected.
