hello out there ...
i am using a 12mhz 80286 for a lot of mail and news transfer. the problem
is this ... at any baud rate, the thru-put of outbound data is always much
high than the thru-put for inbound data -- this is at any baud rate from
1200 thru telebit PEP (19200 or 9600).
with the telebit at 19200 baud, i get outbound rates as high as 1875 but
inbound rates suck -- about 600+ chars/sec.
i am using a standard ibm com port and would like better thru-put for
incoming data. my feeling is that the problem is in the device driver
but i do not know much about such things -- can anyone help?? has anyone
written a new device drive (either pd or commercial)??
btw -- a smart i/o board is not a possibility at the time -- due to lack
of $$$$$$.
thanx for any help ...
