Archive VP60

I am trying to install an Archive VP60 internal tape backup into an Everex 386.
My problem is that I have an extra serial port and so I have to change the
jumpers and the card the therefore the parameters for when I do mkdev tape.
I have Xenix V2.3.1 so all I want to do is change the settings when I do
mkdev tape.  Is anyone familiar with the Archives and could give me some info
regarding how I should go about this?  I'm not familiar enough with the 
terminology to do it myself.  Thanx and I prefer e-mail if possible.  Thanx
