We will soon be developing some very large applications to run under MS-DOS.
We will be using LIM EMS (4.0), so at least we will have some memory to work
with. I have two requests:
For the comp.sys.ibm.pc'ers, I've collected quite a bit of "official"
documentation and code samples, but I would like to of read some real-world
experience in developing for EMS.
For the U**X people, I hope to convince my superiors that we should
cross-develop on a Unix system; probably SCO Xenix. This task would be much
simpler if I could assure them we can emulate DOS memory limitations (i.e.,
640K) and an expanded memory manager. Surely somebody out there has written
emulators of some sort (Are you reading this, LIM?) I would appreciate any
advice, help, pointers, or source for implementing this emulation. If the
request is pointless, let me know that, too.
