Could someone tell me what connectivity options exist for a 386-based
SCO Xenix Box (MCA or AT bus, it doesn't really matter). I am mostly
interested in connecting a Xenix system to a non Unix based system
(like the IBM AS 400 series -- or whatever they call their new
minicomputers, or DEC, IBM, and Unisys mainframes, DOS-based networks,
etc.). The minimum level of support that I would like to see is the
ability for electronic file transfer. However, NFS style file access,
running tasks on remote systems, etc, are all interesting options.
I guess that I am mostly interested in what is available NOW for SCO
and will have to contact the various vendors of the other hardware to
see if they can speak the same language. I would also like to hear
from anyone who is successfully communicating with other systems so I
can build a data base of what is possible under what circumstances.
Thanks for your input.
