I would like to thank those who replied to my inquiry about the
portability of MINIX on PS/2 70. Here is a summary of the replies
for those who have asked me to do so and other interested netters.

Steve Ackerman (uunet!uvm-gen!ackerman) is working on this.

I'm running Minix 1.3 on my Model 80. I've posted some diffs a few
weeks ago, and Gary Craig has gotten them to work on a Model 70. I've
personally gotten them to work with the Modles 50 and 60 as well. However,
Gary said he wasn't able to boot the 60 with it. I'm trying to coordinate
the PS/2 diffs with Dr. Tanenbaum and Brue Evans. In the meantime,
here is a copy of my diffs. Hope they help.

I'm running MINIX on a PS/2 Model 70.
It's not the most robust, but it's a start. I'm using
MSC to compile it. I've got a bios wini driver and a bios
floppy driver. Everything else is standard.
The tty device also gets confused if you hit F1 too much.
Can't figure out why.
I'm not working on solving any of this until I get it converted
over to use the Advanced BIOS (which can run just as well in
protected mode).
I can mail you some simple fixes to get you started, but the
assembler files will all be for the Microsoft Assembler, not
asld.
