DTR ungetty problem

	We are running SCO XENIX 2.2.3 on an NEC 386.	
	We have an intelligent card (NEC "intelliport") which
	is connected to our TELEBIT modems.

	Ocassionally, DTR gets dropped on the modem and I try to restart
	getty for the tty. If the tty is "ttym00",

	I will do a :

	1) "ungetty ttym00" to kill getty

	When I do 1) , it hangs because DTR is down. We do not
	have the source code for "ungetty" so we are forced to reboot.
	 I have also tried :

	 2) "ungetty -r ttym00" but this does not bring DTR back up.

	 Has anyone else had this problem ?

	 Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
