Ah, a fellow "Nuts & Volts" reader. (Nuts & Volts is a monthly magazine full
of new and surplus hardware for computers, ham radios, and cable TV.) When I
called them, they had one of the 60MB tapes with XENIX drivers. The 125MB
tape drives had MS-DOS software, but no XENIX/UNIX drivers. I've been trying
to get through to SCO to see if they might support them. Supposedly these are
resold by Everex, and I've been told by several people that the Wangtek
controller is a "standard" controller that ought to work with just about any
OS. But it would be nice to be sure before laying down the money ... The
125MB drives are going for $495 and the drives supposedly do 32MB in 4 minutes,
but even in the ad they say "your mileage may vary."
I too would appreciate any info on these drives. If the word is good, I'll
give the phone number out after I've got mine. :-)
