problems with ungetty

There is no problem. Ungetty tells the getty process to close
the tty port, not to terminate. Getty remains, but ignores the
port, so that another program can use it without interference.
When the getty is killed off, as it should be after ungetty'ing
it and when your prog is finished with the port, /etc/init will
start another one on that port.
